King Abdulaziz University successfully organized 23 blood donation campaigns as part of the annual National Blood Donation Campaign, launched under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him. The initiative reflects his generous support for humanitarian work and encourages all segments of society to participate in blood donation. The campaigns were held from August 22 to September 14, 2025.

The University Hospital’s Blood Transfusion Services Unit oversaw the campaign, which underscored the importance of blood donation as a humanitarian and community responsibility. It also supported the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 by promoting a culture of voluntary donation and strengthening the Kingdom’s healthcare sector.

In total, 23 campaigns were held -18 across various on- and off-campus locations, and 5 at the University Blood Bank. The campaigns were designed to ensure full readiness and accommodate the largest possible number of donors from diverse segments of society, significantly contributing to the achievement of the initiative’s goals.

As part of the initiative, the university launched a health-focused volunteer program titled “Following the Example, Giving Back” via the Health Volunteering Platform. The program saw wide participation from specialists, technicians, and administrators, who worked diligently to facilitate the donation process and welcome donors. This reflects the university community’s strong commitment to volunteerism and public service.

This campaign reflects King Abdulaziz University’s strong commitment to social responsibility and its active role in supporting national healthcare development efforts. The university reaffirmed its dedication to continuing impactful initiatives that benefit society and advance the objectives of Vision 2030.

It is worth noting that the National Blood Donation Campaign aims to promote awareness of the importance of voluntary blood donation and to achieve self-sufficiency in blood and blood products, ensuring a safe and sustainable supply that meets the needs of beneficiaries across the Kingdom.
